New Overland Grove Community Aims to Target First and Second-Time Home Buyers in DFW

As the DFW housing market keeps getting tighter for entry-level home buyers, local developers are continuing to look for more opportunities to build affordable houses. As highlighted by the Dallas Business Journal, one Dallas-based development group just recently started construction on a sprawling, 336-acre master-planned community in suburban Forney, which will offer plenty of new homes at reasonable prices.
Called Overland Grove, the community will bring over 1,000 homes to the area when finished but will of course be built-out in phases. Located between Highway 80 and Interstate 20, Overland Grove will certainly provide easy access to downtown Dallas, and it’s also expected that the average cost of a home here will settle somewhere around $300,000.…

Frisco’s highest-profile development is now one-step closer to becoming a reality as crews officially broke ground on the fabulous new SkyHouse at Frisco Station earlier this month.
The DFW housing market is tight in just about every category right now, but demand for less expensive, entry-level homes continues to skyrocket. According to a recent report from Zillow, less than 15% of the homes sold in North Texas in 2017 were priced under $140,000, and prices for homes that are considered to be entry-level have risen by a jaw-dropping 78.8% just since 2012.
It seems like monster residential developments with plans to add hundreds of new homes are popping up all over DFW, and local home builder and developer Green Brick Partners Inc. is just the latest to get in on all the action. 
Uptown is easily one of the hottest neighborhoods to begin a new home search in Dallas right now, especially if you’re in the market for a newer construction apartment. In recent years, development all throughout the Uptown neighborhood has been booming, and many of the highest-profile projects in the area have been large-scale apartment buildings and high-rises that are nothing short of spectacular.
A sleek new townhouse community is being built in Oak Cliff, and it’s one active home buyers in the area should definitely take a closer look at during their search. Dubbed Asher Place @ Live Oak, the complex will feature 26 new townhouse residences with both two and three story floor plans, providing ample space for a wide-range of today’s modern city dwellers.
More residential construction is in the works for West Dallas, according to a new report from the Dallas Morning News. Oaxaca Interests, the same development group behind the trendy Sylvan | Thirty mixed-use project, has already started construction on a new 16-unit townhouse community, which only sits just two blocks away at 707 W. Commerce Street.
The DFW real estate market had a tremendous 2017, and if you follow this blog regularly, you’ve certainly noticed us writing about it consistently for the past 12 months. But for additional perspective on just how busy the marketplace was in 2017 consider this: nearly 40% of all Dallas-area homes that sold last year did so for over the asking price.
Everything’s bigger in Dallas, and it seems some condo towers are also the most expensive.
More development news for DFW—surprise, surprise! Well, it seems as if purchasing the former Hicks estate isn’t the only major move local developer Mehrdad Moayedi is making.
