News about Amazon possibly building a new headquarters complex near Dallas has the area buzzing, especially those working in the commercial real estate industry. According to reports, though, the mega digital retailer is looking for more than just economic incentives while deciding where to setup a secondary head office in the U.S., and labor supply and business environment are also two primary issues.

To put things in perspective, the Dallas News is reporting that Amazon’s new office campus would be about a $5 billion investment, and would also be about five times what Toyota spent building their fancy new North American headquarters up in Plano.

Furthermore, a possible new Amazon headquarters would have a projected employment of about 50,000…

Standing 20 stories high and housing 261 apartment residences, along with over 11,000 square feet of retail space,  M-Line Tower at Bowen and McKinney Avenue was built on the site of the widely popular Café Express restaurant, which didn’t please many Uptown residents when the project was first proposed.

But now, almost two full years later, it’s hard not to be impressed with what this new luxury rental tower has to offer, especially from a lifestyle standpoint.

Along with being situated right in the heart of one of the most popular neighborhoods in Dallas, M-Line Tower also provides future residents with a…

As noted by the Dallas News, Austin alone is on pace to add about 30,000 new…

Affordable Homes Hard to Find in DFWHousing inventory throughout the DFW is finally starting to catch up with demand, somewhat, but the problem now facing many North Texas home buyers is affordability.

According to a new report out from DallasNews.com, 22,000 single-family homes were listed in the North Texas region at the end of June, which actually represents the largest inventory available on the market in four years believe it or not.
But to the dismay of many young and first-time home buyers in DFW, much of that inventory is now listed at over $300,000, pricing many would-be buyers out of the market right now.

Also noted in the report is that inventory of homes for under $250,000 has declined by nearly 700 homes, which in some ways could explain DFW’s “swelling” supply.

Large-scale residential development has found its way to countless DFW suburbs and communities over the last couple years, but the city of Allen in particular is seeing quite the building boom right now. And according to recent reports, that trend is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

As first reported by the Dallas Morning News, a Georgia-based developer is planning a new 600-unit rental community, which if approved, will be located just west of Highway 75 and Montgomery Blvd.

The building site occupies nearly 11-aces, and apparently Dallas-based architectural firm Humphreys & Partners has already laid out a design-scheme that would include two large buildings with 363 and 252 units respectively.

A full compliment of luxury…

Among the many needs when it comes to housing is more homes with an affordable price tag, and according to a a recent report in the Dallas Morning News, that’s something builders will now be more heavily focused on moving forward.

As noted in the report, home builders in the DFW area started construction for 8,812 homes during the second quarter of this year, which is the highest volume of new home starts since the fourth quarter of 2006. Many of those new homes will ultimately have prices that start under $300,000, which is good news for buyers looking for a lower priced home.

While Dallas is certainly no stranger to newly developed apartment towers, it’s hard to make an argument against One Dallas Center as being the cream of the crop. Developed by Street Lights Residential, One Dallas Center happens to be situated in perhaps one of the best locations around, providing easy and quick access the Main Street District, Victory Park, and Uptown, which of course is one of the hottest places to live, work, and play in all of DFW right now.

Also from a location standpoint, any commute to just about anywhere in North Texas is also a breeze from Once Dallas Center given its close proximity to Highway 75 and Interstate 35E. But the building’s premium location is really only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to desirability.

As you…
