2014 Housing & Urban Development Budget Proposal May Assist in U.S. Real Estate Market Recovery

The 2014 Department of Housing and Urban Development budget proposed by President Obama includes a number of housing programs that will focus on providing assistance to low income families, distressed communities, and the homeless. The proposed budget is also expected to assist borrowers at risk of foreclosure. The Federal Housing Administration is expected to insure $178 billion in mortgage loans in 2014 supporting new home purchases and refinanced mortgages.Â
