The Dallas City Council recently approved the groundbreaking new $1 billion mixed-use housing project by Megatel Homes which consists of a huge development West of Downtown Dallas including a lagoon, thousands of homes, retail, entertainment and more. These types of new housing developments are exactly what will solve the ongoing inventory issues around the DFW area and couldn't have come at a better time.
The new SoHo Square housing development West of Downtown Dallas is planned to include over 4,100 residential units with a mixture of single family and multifamily homes, up to 900,000 square feet of retail and commercial and the first lagoon ever built in the City of Dallas which will feature 5 acres of clear blue water and white sand beaches. The lagoon is expected to be the centerpiece of the new home community in Dallas that will offer recreation including swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking. Other amenities expected to be offered will include a fitness center, spa, yoga studio, several restaurants and an event center.
