For those who love the charm and tight-knit community feel of Legacy in Plano and the Legacy Town Center, you may be excited to learn about the news that broke earlier this week about plans for a potential new 240-acre mixed-use development on the prime J.C. Penny acreage that lines Legacy Drive just west of the already established master plan.
According to a report from the Dallas Business Journal, Legacy in Plano’s original developer, Fehmi Karahan, has struck a deal to partner with J.C. Penny on a brand new $2 million mixed-use project called Legacy West, which should act as more of a continuation of Legacy Town Center as opposed to a competing community. Along with new multifamily homes, the initial proposal may call for more office space, additional retail space, a hotel, and likely more space specifically designed for corporate campuses.
As of now, specific details regarding the new Legacy West development have yet to be disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement between Karahan and J.C.
