Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past several months or so, you’ve probably noticed there’s been a lot of chatter about Dallas’ Arts District, which is now one of the hottest and fastest growing neighborhoods in all of downtown. Apartment towers and various other residential developments are seemingly being built faster than ever in the area, and for those either thinking about making a move to the Arts District or already happen to call it home, more good news is on the way as Kroger, the nation’s largest grocery store chain, has unveiled plans for a new location near Ross Avenue.

Just blocks from the Arts District, Kroger has reportedly bought a plot of land on Hall Street between Ross Avenue and the North Central Expressway, giving locals yet another convenient shopping amenity to add to the list.

Given the new store will be located less than a mile from Kroger’s other location at Cityplace, which is only a 3 years old by the way, this latest addition to the Arts District and Uptown area is just one more telling sign of how popular this part of the city has become.

High density apartment and residential construction all throughout the Arts District and surrounding area is showing no signs of slowing down, certainly warranting the move by Kroger brass. According to reports, Mill Creek Residential Trust is also working on plans for another apartment community at Hall and Roseland, almost directly across the street from the soon-to-be new Kroger store.

As of now, it’s too early to tell when the new Arts District Kroger will open, but for some area residents who are seeing this downtown Dallas neighborhood blow up before their eyes, it really can’t come soon enough.
