Although the results are subjective and everybody has individual preferences and opinions regarding what some of DFW’s coolest neighborhoods are, it’s still always fun to take a close look at the Dallas Morning News’ annual ‘Best Neighbohorhood’ rankings, which were just recently announced.

Just a few short days ago we highlighted West Plano for once again taking home the top spot in 2016, and if that wasn’t enough, East Plano has claimed the title of being Dallas-Fort Worth’s 3rd best neighborhood, trailing only the Colin County city of Allen, and of course it’s counterpart across town, West Plano.

Unlike Plano’s revitalized downtown and all the luxury homes found over in West Plano, East Plano has more of a quaint and charming ambiance to it, full of diverse housing options, eclectic shops and restaurants, and plenty of history along the way. The wide range of housing options makes it attractive to a rather broad range of today’s home buyers, of which many are currently finding themselves making their way over to East Plano largely because of the easy access to the city’s top-rated schools.

For the most part, East Plano is essentially defined as the part of town that lies east of Central Expressway, and it’s also where you’ll find the city’s largest park that also features and extensive trail system that runs along the calm and tranquil Rowlett Creek. Additionally, the area’s scenic landscape full of rolling hills and mature trees also helps solidify its spot among the best neighborhoods in DFW, and East Plano is also widely recognized for being one of the dog-friendliest locations in all of DFW.
