Freedman's Town

Freedman's Town, also known as Tenth Street Historic Oak Cliff district in Dallas, is one of the last intact freedman's towns in the nation. Freedman's Town historical housing district dates back to as early as 1840 although most original homes only date back to as early as 1910. Freedman's Town includes folk style houses such as shotguns, double shotguns, L-plans, and camelback and saddlebag styles.
