A fun activity for all ages, Paint-Your-Own-Pottery shops have become very popular. The DFW area may not be home to many of these shops conveniently located in downtown, but there are a few great shops nearby.
Painting your own pottery allows you to walk into the shop, pick an item you want to decorate, choose your colors, decorate the piece, leave it to go through the keel and come back and pick it up when it's done. You can choose from all types of items from pottery to piggy banks. Here are a few top shops to check out.
Sunshine Glaze - 405 North Carroll Avenue, Southlake
This location provides one of few centrally located Paint-Your-Own-Pottery shops. For just $6 per hour and the cost of your piece, you can create whatever you'd like. They provide pottery for all ages and even provide great birthday packages. Sunshine Glaze is open every day of the week.
Art From the Heart - 120 South Denton Tap Road, Suite 430, Coppell
This shop provides a number of good programs including a homeschool ceramic program and discounts for Girt Scout troops. They are one of the best choices in the area for painting pottery and you can visit them from 11am to 7pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Another great choice found in the mid-cities area is Pepe Le Potter. This shop has all types of special events from date nights to pottery classes for toddlers and more. Whether you want to enjoy a unique date or you want to take the kids, they will provide just what you need.
The Art Barn - 3401 SW Wilshire Boulevard, Joshua
