Where are the Top Ceramics Classes for Adults in DFW?

You will have no problem learning about ceramics and expressing your creativity at one of the 5 following ceramics places in DFW.

Firehouse Pottery

Located on Meadowbrook Drive in Fort Worth in an old firehouse building, you can take classes in a private individual setting or in a small group setting so you can get comfortable with learning how to make pottery without feeling like there are a whole roomful of eyes on you. During an hour-long class, you will make several pieces of pottery on the pottery wheel and then you will come back about 2 weeks later to apply glaze to the pieces.

The Craft Guild of Dallas

You can find The Craft Guild of Dallas on Belt Line Road. They offer classes during the morning, afternoon, evening, and even late night classes that are held between 10 pm and 1 am in which you will learn how to work on the pottery wheel and building clay structures by hand. They also offer classes for different skill levels and have an Apprenticeship program at the advanced level. Lectures are often given here that the general public can sit in on for more information about this craft.

The American Ceramic Supply Company

If you would love to learn how to use a potter’s wheel, head on over to The American Ceramic Supply Company on Ludelle St in Ft. Worth for their one-hour class. Once you get the hang of the potter’s wheel try out their two-hour class in which you will make more difficult pieces on the potter’s wheel. They also offer a private Date Night or Couples class that will show the two of you how to hand-build or wheel-throw. You’ll get a CD that contains pictures of your date night as well as beverages. If you are over 21 years of age, you can even bring your own beer to the class.

Creative Arts Center of Dallas

The Creative Arts Center of Dallas has been around since 1965. Located on Laughlin Drive, they offer a variety of ceramic classes in which you will learn multiple different techniques such as hand building, throwing at the wheel, and texture surface formation as well as how to mix glazes and how to use them properly. The classes here are 8-week long classes, lasting for 3 hours each and also offer additional time in the studio to work on your creations.

Brookhaven College

You will find Brookhaven College on Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch and they offer a course that consists of multiple levels in which you will learn how to throw and hand-build. The 16-week semester courses, you will create a variety of pieces, learn how to use different kilns, and learn several different finishing techniques to add those final touches to your pieces.
