Videofest will take place on October 8th through October 18th. This is the 28th year for the festival, and it is known as Dallas’s longest-running cultural event. There will be about 125 films submitted from local, regional and international media arts programs. However, there will be a special focus put on new genres, as well as specified strengths that are conveyed in experimental video, documentaries, short films, feature length films and animation.
Throughout the festival, you will be able to listen to panel discussions, as well as view rising technologies that help further professional growth, and interaction between guest and artists. You will be able to view previous year’s highlights on Frame of Mind, which is on KERA Channel 13.
Videofest is designed to promote independent, alternative and non-commercial media. You will also find films that are not seen on television, in movie theaters or anywhere else. The Videofest is hosted by the Video Association of Dallas. The main purpose of this organization is to bring the community a vivid understanding of video, and how it affects their cultures as a whole.
The Video Association of Dallas provides a variety of programs that educates artists, students, educators, critics and video and film producers.
