The 43rd Annual Candlelight at Dallas Heritage Village is returning to Dallas. It’s taking place on December 13th and 14th only located at 1515 South Harwood Street in Dallas. It’s $8-$12 to get in and will include holiday traditions from the earliest times of Texas’ past. You’ll experience storytelling, carolers and more. Here is a look at what to expect at this years 43d Annual Candlelight at Dallas Heritage Village.
The event will be $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children 4-12. Little ones under 3 years old will get in free, or if you are a museum member. You can purchase tickets online by December 11th for a $2 discount. The proceeds to the event will go towards museum programs at the Dallas Heritage Village. It’s actually the museum’s biggest annual public fundraiser.
What to Expect
The event takes a look at the earliest residents of Texas’ and explores how they celebrated the season in the late 1800s. Baylor Scott & White Health is sponsoring the event. The Theme is “May Your Candlelight be Merry and Bright.” There will be songs of the season by musical performers as well as stories told about holiday traditions from this time. They’ll feature crafts inspired by their favorite holiday songs as well.
You can enjoy season décor and traditional celebrations throughout the Dallas Heritage Village for the event. Enjoy carolers while you stroll through the village, as well as hand-weaving, blacksmithing, holiday storytelling all while in traditional costumes. They’ll even have the American Flyer model train exhibit in the Depot operated by the Lone Star Flyer Model Train Club.
The event will have pioneer and Victorian Texas brought to life through characters dressed in period costumes. You can explore historical buildings from the 1840s through 1910 and interpreters will help you celebrate holiday traditions and activities at Candlelight.
While you’re there enjoy holiday treats, the “Timeless Trains” exhibit, a photo with St. Nicholas, entertainment like dancers and choirs and carriage rides along candlelit paths on the antique tractor.
This year’s Candlelight at Dallas Heritage Village is going to be a great way to celebrate the holiday season with the whole family.
