The PGA Tour makes two regular stops in the DFW area every year. Both happen in May and both tournaments provide plenty of fun. Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson are honored during these events because of their contributions to Texas golf and golf across the entire world. Here's a short introduction to the best golf experience in the DFW area.
HP Byron Nelson Championship - May 12th to May 18th
Known as one of the largest sports attractions in the entire DFW area, the HP Byron Nelson Championship is an event you won't want to miss. This will mark the 47th year for the tournament and it will be held at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.
Events held throughout the week will include:
- Practice Rounds - Monday and Tuesday
- Pro-Ams - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- Youth Golf Clinic - Tuesday
- KidsZone - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Pavilion After Dark Live Concerts - Thursday, Friday and Saturday
- Actual Tournament - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial - May 19th to May 25th
A great golf tournament with a different environment, the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial is held in Fort Worth. It's not nearly as large at the HP Byron Nelson, but still provides plenty of golf fun.
This event is well-known for the plaid jacket given to the winner and the cannon fired off to start the tournament. Many top golfers will participate this year and the list keeps growing.
Tickets range from $45 per day and up. Kids get in for just $15 and many other passes are available.
