If you live in the Dallas metro area and happen to own a dog, chances are part of your daily routine involves taking Fido out two or three times a day, or perhaps even making a stop by one of the many Dallas-area dog parks that are available to let your pup stretch his legs and run freely without the restraint of that pesky leash.  

But if you're new to Dallas or are considering a move to DFW from out of town however, you might not be familiar with some of Dallas' best dog areas and facilities, which can of course play a small role in which neighborhood to choose if you are in fact a dog owner. So while Dallas is actually considered a very dog-friendly city with plenty of park spaces and off-leash facilities to use, here's our list of what we consider to be the best dog parks in town:  

Bark Park Central | Dallas Neighborhood: Deep Ellum
2530 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX

Occupying 1.2 acres, running space for your dog certainly isn't an issue here at Bark Park Central, and there's even doggie drinking fountains, strong and sturdy fencing, and a nice utilitarian bathing area for clean-up before you head back home. Bone shaped benches and dog-inspired artwork also enhance the authentic atmosphere here at what many consider to be Dallas' best dog park.

Mockingbird Point Dog Park | Dallas Neighborhood: East Dallas
8000 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX  

Mockingbird Point was the first official dog park in the Dallas Park and Recreation System, and with roughly 2.2 acres of "off-leash" space, it also has plenty of room for the many who frequently visit this one-of-a-kind facility. Amenities here include drinking fountains, a pet waste station, picnic tables, parking, and even a small dog area to let the little ones roam free. And being situated right next to Dallas' largest lake, plenty of hiking, jogging, and cycling trails are right nearby for doggie owners!

NorthBark Dog Park | Dallas Neighborhood: North Dallas
4899 Gramercy Oaks Drive, Dallas, TX

Sprawling an incredible 22.3 acres, NorthBark Dog Park is actually the largest dog park in all of north Texas. Offering an expansive lawn area, a full size doggy lake, and dog beach, and al kinds of trails and hiking area, there's nothing that NorthBark doesn't offer dogs and their owners.
