Pollo Tropical is a new restaurant that recently opened in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It is a Miami-based chain with a mix of fast food and casual dining. The restaurant has a Caribbean flare and offers chicken in a variety of different styles and flavors.
Some of their most popular menu items include the grilled citrus chicken platters, calypso beef, mojo roast pork, a build-your-own burrito dish and several tasty desserts. You will also find traditional items, such as fried yuca and plantains on the menu.
The chicken at Pollo Tropical is quite delicious. Of course, when you name a restaurant after chicken, you better back it up. It is so tender it will literally fall off the bone.
The Saucing Island
One thing that will really capture your attention is the saucing island. This island features about 12 different sauces. Besides the usual ketchup and salsa, it also features more exotic sauces such as curry mustard. The chicken is already great by itself. Add one of these sauces to it and you will be in chicken heaven.
When you visit be sure to try both the curry mustard sauce and the spicy poyo poyo. You will be pleasantly surprised with how wonderful they taste.
Beverages and Desserts
Pollo Tropical also offers several different refrescas including guava and pomegranate. Some of their best desserts are the guava cheesecake and the guava bar.
For those who prefer to get their food on the go you can use the drive through. If you would prefer to come in and sit down to enjoy your meal you will love dining on the patio. It faces a lot of open space which gives you plenty of beauty to gaze at while you eat.
In the near future Pollo Tropical plans to expand into North Richard Hills, Watauga and Hurst.
