Another new mega-development is in the works, this time in a location that sits directly between Fort Worth and Denton in suburban Northlake. According to a report from the Dallas Morning News, Hillwood Communities will be developing the new 1,157-acre Pecan Square community, which is expected to have over 600 homes in the first phase alone, and over 3,000 homes once fully built-out.
Part of the land in which Pecan Square will occupy was previously used as an equestrian center and still features existing horse stables and various horse farm buildings. Hillwood doesn't plan to use those buildings as stables anymore, but rather repurpose them into a community center for resident use.
Home builders for the first phase of Pecan Square have also already been selected and include Ashton Woods, CalAtlantic Homes, D.R. Horton, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Perry Homes, Plantation Homes, and Pulte Homes.
Ground breaking for the massive new Northlake community is already planned for next spring and homes could first hit the market as early as summer 2019.
Homes for sale in Pecan Square will start right around $270,000 and go up from there.
