Overland Grove Forney TXAs the DFW housing market keeps getting tighter for entry-level home buyers, local developers are continuing to look for more opportunities to build affordable houses. As highlighted by the Dallas Business Journal, one Dallas-based development group just recently started construction on a sprawling, 336-acre master-planned community in suburban Forney, which will offer plenty of new homes at reasonable prices.

Called Overland Grove, the community will bring over 1,000 homes to the area when finished but will of course be built-out in phases. Located between Highway 80 and Interstate 20, Overland Grove will certainly provide easy access to downtown Dallas, and it’s also expected that the average cost of a home here will settle somewhere around $300,000. But entry-level homes will start at just $275,000.

According to developers, the target market for Overland Grove will be first and second-time home buyers, and the community will also include a variety of amenities for resident-use, including swimming pools, open park spaces, and plenty of trails and walking paths.
