Flexible Office SpaceThose looking for more flexible office space may want to take their search to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It recently took one of the top spots when it comes to the nation’s largest co-working and flexible office markets.

Dallas-Fort Worth came in at number two, behind only Manhattan in relation to the number of short-term offices. The ranking is part of a new report by CBRE Group, a commercial real estate services and investment firm.

North Texas now has more than five-million square feet of office flex space. That includes short-term rentals, shared office and co-working space.

Overall, flexible office space is barely more than two-percent of the total local office space in Dallas-Fort Worth. Even so, it’s enough to give Dallas-Fort Worth more than most other markets, including Los Angeles. Flex office space accounts for more than 80-million square feet of building space nationwide.

CBRE says it’s seen an increase in requests for company flex space. If everything is successful, companies can transition to more permanent space, but if not, they’re only tied to the space on a short-term basis.
