There are a number of rinks that have leagues for both experienced and beginner hockey players. The instructional leagues are a great introduction to the sport you will end up falling in love with. Luckily, there are a few great options to get you back on the ice where you belong.

Nytex Sports Center

This rink is located in North Richland Hills, and is home to the Texas Brahmas professional hockey team, so the ice is guaranteed to be smooth and fast. The instructional league is $175, which gives you a great twelve week crash course. The experienced leagues cost $2500 per team and include more competitive play.

Senior Stars Hockey League

The senior stars hockey league is the top league in the area and for good reason. With games in Frisco, Farmers Branch, McKinney and Euless it’s convenient for many residents. The league has you playing 30 games plus playoffs for the season and you receive deals on Dallas Stars ticket packages. It is $8000 for a team in divisions A-D1. For those just discovering the game, the I league, which plays on Friday nights, is a twelve week learning session costing $229.

Ice Training Center

The only rink in the area with women's hockey, they offer four divisions of competitive hockey. Prices range from $8750- $7250 depending on the division, and for beginners you get lessons including everything from puck control to the basics of skating, for the great price of $585.

Just because you are in the lone star state does not give you an excuse to ignore your true calling to play hockey. With great options all around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you can lace up and score your next goal any time of the year.
