Best Cities For First Time Home BuyersThe DFW real estate market has been red hot over the last couple years, and a shortage of inventory has continued to drive home prices up all over North Texas. But despite rising prices and the challenges home buyers in DFW are facing right now, it’s still considered one of the best places in the country for first-time home buyers.

According to new findings from personal finance website WalletHub, three DFW suburbs topped the list of “Best Places for First Time Home Buyers,” edging out other growing cities like Cary (NC), Norman (OK), and Lincoln (NE).

As noted on their website, WalletHub analyzed 300 cities of varying sizes and considered 23 different variables that range from affordability and quality of life to real estate taxes and crime rate. So in other words, their rankings are a pretty good indicator of how desirable certain cities are for first time buyers right now and certainly provide some valuable insight into what some intriguing options are if you do happen to be looking to make the transition from renting to owning.

Not surprisingly, McKinney earned the No. 1 overall spot on WalletHub’s official rankings, followed by Frisco at No. 2, and Allen at No. 3.
