2014 Holiday Events in DFW

We've officially turned the calendar to December, which usually means a month full of shopping, baking, decorating, entertaining, and enjoying various other holiday customs you or your family like to partake in around this time of year, but if you're looking to take a break at some point and want to get out of the house to enjoy all the festivities happening around town, like every holiday season, there's a whole lot going on all over the DFW region all month long.

Christkindl Market - Arlington, TX

An authentic German-style market that features a wide variety of German cuisine, drinks, entertainment, arts, crafts, and any number of holiday gifts, nothing says Christmas like a visit to this annual tradition, which is happening from November 29th - December 15th.

Trains in NorthPark - Dallas, TX

Celbrating its 16th year, Trains in Northpark is the largest toy train exhibit to happen in all of Texas. Including 1600 feet of track and more than 4,000 square feet of train themed displays, this holiday tradition continues to be fun for visitors of all ages, even if you're not a toy train enthusiast. Check out more information about the annual Trains in NorthPark here.

ICE! & Lone Star Christmas - Grapevine, TX

If you've never been to Grapevine's Gaylord Texan Resort for their Christmas extravaganza, you're truly missing out on a great time. Over 2 million twinkling lights, 15,000 ornaments, a huge 54-foot tall Christmas tree, an 8-foot tall gingerbread house, and massive ice sculpture carvings are on display, while just a few of the fun-filled events and activities available to visitors include Santa's Wild Workshop Snow Tubing, LIVE ice carving demos, and cookies and milk with Mrs. Claus! For more information, check out the promo video here.

Outdoor Ice Skating at Panther Island Ice

Featuring North Texas' only outdoor ice skating rink, no holiday season is complete without making a trip over to Panther Island Ice. And with an even bigger outdoor ice rink this year with real ice, seasonal music, and all kinds of fun for the whole family, there's nothing quite like spending the afternoon over at Panther Ice during the holiday season. The rink will be open 7 days a week, including holidays, all the way through January 19th. To get the hours or for more information about Panther Island Ice, check out the facility website.
