An interesting new story recently caught our eye from the Dallas Morning News that detailed a possible new development for a sprawling 2,800-acre ranch in suburban Frisco. The site, which is currently owned by the estate of Bert Fields, is actually part of a larger 7,000-acre ranch that sits on the northwest side of town, just west of the Dallas North Tollway.

Plans are only preliminary and according to reports, the land isn’t actually for sale at the moment. However, Dallas-based Woodbine Development Corp. is still working to develop a master plan that could eventually be developed, should it be approved by the city and should the land owners actually decide to sell.

As one of the fastest-growing towns in DFW, the potential for new development is welcomed by the city, which of course have the potential to continue to bring new residents and businesses to town, further boosting job and economic growth in the area.

Several major developments are already in the works for the Frisco area, including the 242-acre Frisco Station mixed-use development, the Wade Park mixed-use development, and the 41-acre apartment community called The Gate.
