We’re nearing the final days of the Christmas season, and ready or not, Christmas Eve is now just 5 days away. Last week, we highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses around the Dallas area, and today, we’re going to continue that trend.
As you’re out there shopping for your husbands, wives, kids, parents, aunts, uncles and whoever else may be on your holiday gift-giving list, don’t forget the four-legged parts of your family this holiday season. Dallas is widely considered to be one of the best dog-friendly towns in the country, and along with that, we also have a pretty great selection of pet boutiques and locally owned business that offer all kinds of goods and services that strictly relate to our pups! So whether it's some extra snacks for Fido to enjoy over the holidays or the perfect holiday sweater for your upcoming ugly Christmas sweater party, if you're looking for some great local spots to do some shopping for your dog (or cat), here are a few places we think are worth a visit...
Green Pet
A local, independently owned all natural pet food shop, Green Pet offers the very best food, treats, and chews for your pooch, not to mention a pretty awesome selection of toys, leashes, collars, and various other supplies for your dog—or your cat!
Downtown Pawz
Voted Best Pet Store in 2013 by D Magazine, this organic pooch boutique is one of our favorite downtown spots to grab food, toys, clothing, and an array of all natural snacks. Inside, the store is neatly organized and colorful, making for an awesome shopping experience every time you walk through that door!
The Lucky Dog Barkery
If you're looking for a pet shop with lots of variety and a great selection of products, there isn't much The Lucky Dog Barkery doesn't have in stock. Holistic dog foods, designer toys and clothing, and an assortment of free-range meaty treats are just a small part of what's offered here, while its location in between Highway 75 and the Dallas North Tollway off of Highway 12 make it a pretty convenient stop, regardless of where you live.
Paradise 4 Paws
More than just a fabulous retail shop that's stocked with grooming supplies, freshly baked goodies, and all sorts of fun toys, Paradise 4 Paws is also well-known throughout the Dallas community as being a 5-star boarding facility that's a favorite among dog owners in Dallas. Acting as sort of a one-stop-shop for all your dog-needs, we couldn't leave this one off our list!
