National Burger Month in Dallas

Eight days ago we officially turned the calendar to May, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to celebrate National Burger Month! We’re not sure how National Burger Month started or who officially designated May to be the time of the year when we rejoice over one of America’s favorite foods, but if there’s any excuse to incorporate more burgers into our diet, we’re not complaining.

If you’ve ever spent any time in the Dallas area, you likely already know how good the food scene is around town. From delicious southern BBQ to some of the finest steakhouses in the southwest, carnivores certainly love being part of the Dallas community and being able to enjoy the vast selection of first-rate restaurants all throughout the DFW region.

So, whether you’ve lived in Dallas your whole life or happen to be relatively new to the area, now is the time to get out and swing by some of DFW’s best eateries, especially those focused in serving up the best burgers around.

Looking for some suggestions on where to go? Check out our list of the best burgers in all of DFW below!

Wingfield’s

A small, unassuming building at 2615 S. Beckley, Wingfield’s is the quintessential burger joint. There’s a counter where you place your order and about enough space to hold 5 people inside. If it’s busy, place your order, head out to the car, and listen to some tunes while waiting for the awesomeness that awaits you once your food is ready.

Kenny’s Burger Joint

Located in Frisco, Kenny’s is a bit more modern and has more of a gourmet feel, but the atmosphere is still casual and welcoming to new-comers. The burgers at Kenny’s have a unique twist, as Chef Kenny Bowers and partner Bob Stegall are the creators of the wood fired grill, which means the wood grilled burgers have a distinct flavor that’s worth the trip, even if you’re from out of town. Check them out at 1377 Legacy Drive, Suite 120 in Frisco, TX.

Hopdoddy

Although the name may suggest the focus here is beer, which to some degree it is, the burgers at Hopdoddy are equally as impressive as the beer selection. Made from all natural ingredients, the burgers are derived from in-house ground hormone/antibiotic-free black-angus beef, which is reason enough to give this local burger destination a chance. But along with that, the beer selection—as mentioned—is rather extensive and is a nice compliment to the tasty burgers and house cut fries at one of Dallas’ best stops along the burger trail.

Goodfriend

There’s certainly more to a good burger than what’s usually offered at a local fast-food joint; and those behind the Goodfriend Beer Garden and Burger House unquestionably understand that concept. Burgers here are made from only grass-fed beef and guests are able to choose from a menu that features 11 different burger options. For great beer and even better burgers, Goodfriend is where you want to be. Their convenient location is at 1154 Peavy Road in Dallas.

 Stackhouse Burgers

What’s not to love about Stackhouse Burgers? The concept, as mentioned on their website, is about as simple as it gets: prepare fresh, homemade burgers cooked to order without taking any short cuts. In addition, this is definitely the place you want to go if building your own burger is how you want to do things. The menu consists of three different options: a Single, Double, or Veggie, and you choose the toppings, which range from peppers and Canadian bacon to grilled mushrooms and chili. Stackhouse Burgers is located at 2917 Gaston Avenue.
