DFW Ranked 3rd in National Real Estate Website's Top 10 Housing Markets in 2016 Rankings

For those of us who already live in Dallas or work in the craziness that is DFW real estate right now, we fully understand how how the market has been over the last 12 months. But as we push through the busy spring season and into the summer, the real estate market all around the Dallas-Fort Worth area appears to also be getting plenty of attention nationally as well.

According to the national real estate website Zillow, DFW was mentioned in the top 10 housing markets for 2016, coming in third behind Denver and Seattle. As noted in a recent article from Nerd Wallet, Zillow used 3 different elements to determine what they call the “hotness score”, which include home value appreciation, recent income growth, and current unemployment rates.

Mustang Lakes Community Bringing 2,000 New Homes to Collin County

With so many jobs coming to North Texas and inventory already low, there’s been quite a bit of chatter in recent months about home prices shooting up due to the strong demand for housing in cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, and many of their surrounding suburbs. DFW Area Rents Up Over 5%; Fort Worth Over 6%

David Weekley Bringing Upscale Row Homes to Dallas' South Side District

DFW Foreclosures at Near 15-Year Low

According to recent reports, the number of homes in DFW being forced to sell by lenders has now dropped to a near 15-year low point. With home prices hitting record highs and demand for housing through the roof, foreclosure rates are dropping dramatically, especially within the last 12 to 18 months. 

Back at the height of the recession, a record 63,835 homes in the DFW were scheduled for foreclosure, which compared to other hard-hit parts of the country like Las Vegas, Florida, or Arizona, isn’t a terribly high number in terms of the number of foreclosures to total number of properties on the market. We're Still Waiting on District 1444 — The Design District's Massive New Mixed-Use Development

It’s been awhile since anything has been mentioned about District 1444—a project that will no doubt re-define this sleepy part of Dallas’ up-and-coming Design District. In case you forgot, The District 1444 project is a huge multi-use development that is reported to feature roughly 46,000 square feet of restaurant and shopping space on the ground level, and over 200 fabulous apartment units on its upper floors.
